I love the idea that yoga is about equanimity, that we're seeking not the extremes but the middle way.That yoga is about finding a calm and clear home inside and staying rooted there regardless of the passing outer weather. That yoga is about having the wisdom to see what we need and having the courage to seek it. Sometimes we need just the opposite of what we think.
And sometimes the path winds deep into 

unexplored territories in ways we never could imagine, merely to lead
us happily back home.

Yogamocean is a studio located in Caspar, CA, 175 miles north of San Francisco on the Mendocino coast, home to the beautiful Redwoods. It is the studio of Kathleen Flanagan and the school for Alliance Teacher Training programs. The school is certified for both 200 hour and more advanced 500 hour programs. There is a program (200 hour) beginning in May 2011 with graduation in early April 2012.

Kathleen Flanagan started teaching yoga at the age of nineteen at her local YMCA. She went on to study and complete the program at the Institute for Yoga Teacher Education in 1978 and left for India to study with B.K.S. Iyengar. With few exceptions most of her influences have been Iyengar teachers and she studies with H.S. Arun every year. (Yogamocean sponsors Arunji in Mendocino, CA and South Bend, IN) Kathleen is a registered (E-RYT 500) yoga teacher with the Alliance and has developed the teacher training programs both in South Bend, IN and in Mendocino, CA. She is also a graduate of the Chicago School of Massage Therapy with over 39 years of teaching experience. Through her use of manual and movement therapy, she helps dozens of clients, both pre and post-operative for a successful recovery and a return to yoga practice. Kathleen is available for massage appointments as well as private yoga sessions. (Fees available upon request)
